This nine-module study plan has been developed by the Pediatric Content Committee at AAOS to prepare orthopaedic surgeons for the 2018 Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery Practice Profiled Recertification Examination. Selected AAOS content aligns with the ABOS Pediatrics Recertification Examination Blueprint, making this not only an essential study tool, but also an excellent resource for surgeons interested in an all-around foundation in current pediatric orthopaedic concepts.
Participants may elect to review and complete each of the modules at any time, or take advantage of weekly email updates to stay on track leading up to their examination date. Each module contains:
- Knowledge Check – AAOS SAE questions specifically selected to address the top tested content
- Recommended Readings – Full PDFs of highly regarded AAOS book chapters, ICL texts, and articles
- Lecture Presentations – Audiovisual presentations from the 2017 IPOS “Fundamentals in Pediatric Orthopaedics” intensive review course
- Study Activity – Digital flashcards to test knowledge and highlight key, testable concepts
In addition, participants can use the “Build-a-Quiz” functionality within the program to develop mock exams or create individualized question banks to reinforce specific content areas. The “Build-a-Quiz” feature is available to participants after they have reviewed each module and completed the program evaluation.
