Social media is a proven way of engaging patients and advocates, recruiting, and getting the story out about your health center. However, some health center IT departments widely -- or completely -- block access to common social media platforms, like Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube citing a variety of reasons: Concerns about employee social networking during employment hours; Concerns that social networking may pose a threat to patient privacy; and/or IT security. A panel of experts will explore many of the myths, misconceptions, and common concerns about social networking management, IT security, and patient privacy. Attendees will also receive guidance on crafting a comprehensive health center social media policy that addresses common issues and concerns.
